Tim Handfield’s exhibition, Plenty, is the outcome of five years of work watching and photographing the ever expanding housing developments along the Plenty Road corridor in Melbourne’s North. Part documentary, part poetic, these photographs investigate notions of place, the scarification of the landscape, consumerism and the promise of utopia central to Melbourne’s new urban developments.

Trefor Prest: Fabricated Memories

Sculptor Trefor Prest’s work has been influenced by memories of a childhood spent frequenting the docks in a Welsh coal port, surrounded by the debris of an obsolete industrial landscape. In his work Trefor strives to suggest the presence of purposeful forms beneath the outer shell of each object, often taking the form of a vessel, reflecting the human body. The pieces are fabricated from numerous components using various engineering techniques and other methods. No found objects are used.
